The fate of the presidential elections in the United States hinged on Thursday morning on the outcome of five states with a total of 60 votes in the constituency. Trump leads 4 of them, but Biden made up for much of the difference, especially in the counting conditions at the end of the mail-order votes.

• According to estimates by Fox News and Associated Press, Biden has secured 264 of the 270 votes needed to become president, while Trump currently has only 214.

In Pennsylvania (20 votes), after counting 89% of the votes, Donald Trump has 50.7% and Joe Biden 48.1%. This state is usually a Democratic stronghold, but in 2016 its votes went to the current president.

In Georgia (16 votes), after 98% of the electoral options have been worked out, Trump has 49.7% and Biden 49.1%. Georgia traditionally votes with the Republicans.

In North Carolina (15 votes), after counting 94% of the votes, Trump has 50.1% and Biden 48.7%. And this state is usually dominated by Republicans.

In Nevada (6 votes), usually colored blue, after processing 75% of the votes, Biden leads with 49.3% to 48.7%.

There is also in the game Alaska, a clear republican fiefdom, which has only 3 votes in the constituency. After counting half the votes, Trump has 62.1% and the Democratic candidate 33.5%.

It should be noted that much of the American press has already awarded Biden the winner in Arizona (11 votes), although only 86% of the votes have been counted and Biden’s advance is less than 3%. In elections for the past three decades, Arizona has usually voted with the Republican candidate.
