Pfizer announced on Monday that its experimental vaccine is more than 90 percent effective in preventing Covid-19, according to preliminary data from a large-scale study, with the announcement representing a big win in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. .
“Today is a great day for science and humanity,” said Albert Bourla, Pfizer CEO and chairman of the board.
Both Trump and his son blamed the American pharmaceutical company’s announcement on Twitter six days after election day.
Although Pfizer made the announcement, Trump attacked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Democrats on Monday night, saying he didn’t want a vaccine victory before the election.
The @US_FDA and the Democrats didn’t want me to get a WIN vaccine, before the election, so it came out five days later – like I said from the start!

In another tweet, he added that Pfizer “didn’t have the guts” to make the announcement earlier.
As I have long said, @Pfizer and the others announced a vaccine only after the elections, because they did not have the courage to do so before. Similarly, the @US_FDA he should have announced it sooner, not for political purposes, but to save lives!

A Pfizer spokesperson told Business Insider that the company’s announcement had nothing to do with the US election.
Donald Trump jr. in turn, he described the timing of Pfizer’s announcement as “rather surprising” and asked if there was anything “unclean” about it.
The timing of this is rather surprising. Nothing bad about the timing of any of this, right? uD83D uDE44 https://t.co/nS5rkywKXT

President Trump previously said that a COVID-19 vaccine would be ready by election day.
Trump also tweeted that if President-elect Joe Biden had been in the White House, “you wouldn’t have the vaccine for another four years and the FDA would never have approved it so quickly.”
If Joe Biden were president, you wouldn’t have the vaccine for another four years, nor the @US_FDA never approved so quickly. The bureaucracy would have destroyed millions of lives!

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said Monday in an interview with CNN that he had discovered the results of the study for the first time Sunday, conducted by independent scientists.
Asked about the timing of the announcement, Bourla said Pfizer simply did it “when science told us the data was available.”
Trump’s tweets on Monday night were in stark contrast to those he did during the day on Pfizer’s announcement.
He called the study findings “such great news” and noted that the stock market had also grown.
STOCK MARKET BIG, VACCINE COMING. 90% EFFECTIVE RATIO. SUCH GREAT NEWS!

Vice President Mike Pence also tweeted the biopharmaceutical company’s announcement that it misinterpreted Pfizer’s success as a result of the Trump administration.
Pence tweeted that Pfizer developed its vaccine “thanks to the public-private partnership created by President Trump.”
GREAT NEWS: Thanks to the public-private partnership forged by the President @realDonaldTrump, @pfizer announced that its Coronavirus vaccine study is EFFECTIVE, preventing infection in 90% of its volunteers.

The US government placed a large order over the summer for the Pfizer vaccine, but the company never took part in Operation Warp Speed, the US executive’s initiative to accelerate the development and distribution of a vaccine.
Pfizer also said it never took any money from the US government for its research.
