Should winter sports be banned in the second crown wave? In Europe, the Alpine states are currently discussing this issue. In Switzerland, a non-EU country, however, the topic is not on the agenda. On the contrary: the winter season should help the battered tourism industry generate income. The cause is supported by federal president Simonetta Sommaruga and by the economy minister Guy Parmelin.

Last Monday, the Swiss Tourism sector organization presented the corresponding advertising campaign called “My first time”. The motto: the unimaginable variety of the Swiss winter. The issue must be raised not only in Switzerland, but also abroad – and therefore also in neighboring countries, where the pros and cons of a ban are heatedly discussed.
