Authorities released a disturbing new report on Wednesday 4 November 2020. In the past 24 hours, 8,651 new cases and 146 deaths have been recorded. The number of patients admitted to ATI is 1,001. The capital recorded an incidence of 4.24 per thousand inhabitants.

In Romania, since the beginning of the pandemic to date, 267,088 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed.

186,260 patients were declared cured.

Over 8,600 new cases

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 8,651 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these are cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Aside from recently confirmed cases, after reviewing patients who were already positive, 1,916 people were positively reconfirmed.

Bucharest has exceeded the infection rate of 4 per thousand

The 14-day cumulative contagion coefficient, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, calculated by the SDR for the capital is 4.24. The counties of Alba, Bihor and Sibiu also have a coefficient of over 4 per thousand. But there are three counties, Cluj, Salaj and Timis, with an infection rate of over 5 per thousand.

In addition, four other counties are in the red scenario, with an incidence of over 4 per thousand.

Death record, 24 hours

According to data provided by the Strategic Communication Group, 7,419 people have died to date diagnosed with SARS – CoV – 2 infection.

“Between 03.11.2020 (10:00) and 04.11.2020 (10:00) were reported 146 dead (77 men and 69 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Arges, Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Botosani, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Constanta, Dambovita, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomita, Iasi, Mehedinti, Mures, Prahova, Suceava, Timis, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest “, reports GCS.

Of these, one death was recorded in the 20-29 age group, seven deaths in the 40-49 age group, 13 deaths in the 50-59 age group, 26 deaths in the 60- 69 age group, 51 deaths in the age group 70-79 and 48 deaths in the category over 80 years.

138 of the deaths recorded involved some patients with comorbidities, four deceased patients did not have comorbidities and for four dead patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

Over 1,000 patients in ATI

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11,867. Of these, 1,001 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 3,341,867 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 35,964 were performed in the last 24 hours, 21,808 based on case definition and medical protocol and 14,156 upon request.
Furthermore, from the latest information provided by GCS, the results of 594 tests processed before the last 24 hours and broadcast until November 4th were reported.

In Romania, 33,630 people who have confirmed they are infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home and 11,373 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 59,339 people are quarantined at home and there are 18 people in institutionalized quarantine.

Over 3,000 calls to 112


In the last 24 hours they have been recorded 3,410 calls to the single emergency number 112 and 1,265 on the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open above all to inform citizens.

Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, police and gendarmes have applied in the last 24 hours 7,062 of fines, equal to 930,022 lei.
Moreover, through the competent police structures, 5 crimes were ascertained yesterday for combating the fight against diseases, an act envisaged and punished by art. 352 criminal code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the health protection regulations can be reported.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

The situation of Romanians abroad

As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,853 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 159 in the United Kingdom, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the United States, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina,
Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.

Among Romanian citizens confirmed with novel coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Coronavirus record in Romania

The highest number of daily cases to date was reported on November 3, 2020. No less than 7,733 new infections were reported in 24 hours.

On October 23, the largest number of tests was performed: 41,238, in 24 hours.

The highest number of deaths was recorded on November 3, 2020. Authorities later reported that 120 Romanians have died from the coronavirus.

On 3 November 2020, the largest number of patients admitted to the ICU was reported (974).

Worldwide, over 47.9 million people have been confirmed with the novel coronavirus. Another 1.2 million died from COVID-19.

Of the more than 12 million active cases, more than 88,000 patients are in serious condition.

The most affected nations in the world are the United States, India and Brazil.

Romania ranks 30th in the world for number of infections, according to centralized data on the www.worldometers.info platform.
