The massacre perpetrated against the Northern Command is horrific, Lieutenant General Bacha Debele who inspected the scene revealed today.
Informing reporters after his visit, Lieutenant General Bacha said the TPLF junta used horrific tactics to destroy the army.
On the day the fighting started, an army party was held and senior military officers were kidnapped.
In his briefing, he added that the illegal group cut off radio communications to break the chain of command.
Like the day the army receives rations and salaries, the illegal group looted and distributed everything to their fighters, Lieutenant General Bacha explained.
That same night, they launched an attack at 10pm and the army could not get food and water for three days.
In the meantime, they have sent people asking for members of the army to surrender.
Soldiers from the Oromo Liberation Front had taken part in the horrendous massacre carried out by the illegal group TPLF, he revealed.
However, he stressed that no single member of the military had surrendered.
Lieutenant General Bacha further elaborated that members of the brigade armed with modern weapons fought to the last and few survived. The martyred members of the brigade were thrown naked and allowed to be eaten by wild animals.
Senior military officers kidnapped and released naked by the TPLF junta received clothes from members of the Eritrean army who handed them their uniforms.
The Northern Command, which is now in a good position, has taken effective measures against the illegal group.
