True The Vote attorneys reported withdrawing cases filed in the courts of Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, less than a week after filing the complaints. Jim Bopp Jr., an attorney for the group, declined to mention the reason for the decision, but confirmed that there are no other cases pending from this group.
This announcement once again reduces President Donald Trump’s legal options and his insistence that he was defeated in an election he claims to have won due to electoral fraud.
Based in Houston, Texas, the True The Vote group is one of several conservative groups that have contested the victory of Democratic candidate Joe Biden, who has been named President-elect by most of the American media.
Several lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign and other groups have been dismissed by the courts, voluntarily withdrawn or resolved. Some others are still pending.
Trump has secured at least two court victories in the state of Pennsylvania related to postal vote control. In this state, the projections give Biden a 67,000 vote lead over Trump.
