The US National Hurricane Center (CNH) reported at 09:00 GMT this Sunday that storm center Eta has entered Cuban territory and reiterated that “dangerous storm surges, flash floods and strong winds are expected in parts of Cuba. and Florida “.

At that time, the meteorological phenomenon had maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts, and its central pressure remained at 991 hectopascals. CNH predicts a weakening of ETA winds as it travels across Cuban land, although it could have the strength of a hurricane when it returns to the open sea.



After passing through Cuba, the tropical storm will continue to advance towards Florida, in the United States, where it will arrive next Monday.

Eta, which landed in the Caribbean area of ​​Nicaragua last Tuesday as a powerful Category 4 hurricane, caused one hundred deaths and thousands of displaced people in the countries of the Central American isthmus.
