Thousands of victims: sexual abuse among US Boy Scouts

It is one of the largest abuse scandals in the United States. Tens of thousands of Boy Scouts have been sexually abused. Now a wave of lawsuits are rolling against the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) organization. More than 80,000 victims are seeking compensation. Because the BSA knew their group leaders were joking with the kids, as the BSA itself admits. But instead of reporting it to the police, the BSA tried to hide the abuse and settled the matter internally.

The victims still suffer today. You have mental health problems, you drink too much alcohol. Meanwhile, the BSA has apologized for the years of abuse. One was “devastated,” the BSA said, as the “BBC” reports. But shortly thereafter, the Boy Scout Association filed for bankruptcy, ostensibly to save their fortune and not have to pay the victims a dime.
