The US Department of Justice found no evidence to support allegations of widespread fraud that could have changed the outcome of last month’s presidential election, US Attorney General William Barr said in an interview with The Associated. Press, quoted by CNN.

Barr, who backed incumbent President Donald Trump’s claims before the election that voting by mail is not safe, said both the Justice Department and Homeland Security Department analyzed the fraud allegations and found them. unfounded.

Barr’s remarks come weeks after a former cybersecurity official publicly rejected Trump’s claims, forcing the president to fire him.
Two attorneys working for Trump on Tuesday rejected Barr’s assessment, reiterating their claims that they have “ample evidence of illegal voting in at least six states.”
“With the utmost respect for the Attorney General, his opinion appears to be without his knowledge or without investigating substantial irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud,” lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis said in a statement.
Previously, Barr made statements similar to those made by Trump, including in September, when he condemned states that used mail-order voting during the coronavirus pandemic.
