A Venezuelan military group in Colombia issued a statement circulated through the NTN24 channel in which they ignored Nicolás Maduro as president of Venezuela and supported Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly as interim president.

In the video, the first lieutenant Josue Hidalgo Azuaje, an exiled soldier in Peru, joined the declaration in Colombian territory.

"The armed forces join this January 23, we do not add to the Venezuelan people and we are willing to respect our constitutional role to safeguard national sovereignty".
