Raúl Escuin, a 30-year-old man who lives in Alloza, a small town in Spain, has caused controversy on social networks after announcing that he himself listed as a "vegan recipe" to prepare blood sausages with human blood.

The particular method of Escuin was recorded in a video published by the portal PlayGround, which states that the idea came to him at the age of 13, while helping his mother to make black pudding. At that time, he says in his story, he said to his mother: "And a person's blood bagged what would they know?".

The recipe is made with 40 milliliters of human blood, which are, according to Escuin, the equivalent needed to prepare with 100 grams of rice.

"I, in general, when I go to draw blood, I have to go to bed because I faint," he says in the video. Escuin also clarifies that she always draws her blood with the help of a professional nurse.

The recipe is dictated by Antonio, a young chef who accompanies Escuin in the video. According to his indication, once the blood has been extracted, the onion should be sautéed in a pan. Then add 250 milliliters of water, cinnamon, pepper and pine nuts, which are some seeds. When this mixture boils, explains the cook, the rice is added and immediately after the blood.

The resulting pasta is stuffed. "Basically, here we have artificial leather so it's completely vegan"says Antonio, holding the black pudding in his hand. "The next thing is to cook it for 20 minutes and it would be ready," he adds.

Although born in a family that has been dedicated to butchers for generations, Escuin says that it is increasingly closer to veganism, the movement based on not using animals for the benefit of human beings. "I think that over time I will become vegan, I know," he said in an interview with PlayGround.

He added: "I think we should consume a lot less meat and I think that veganism is what we must inculcate to the generation that comes".

In an interview with the Spanish network La Sexta, Raúl Escuín said a few weeks ago that this practice is "totally healthy and safe". He also assured that he already registered his idea in the intellectual property of Barcelona and that he did not intend to commercialize it. For now, he says, he is content to make the recipe known.

In fact, he recently created the "You and Your Blood Sausage" initiative, with which he intends to promote this practice. "I'm helping free people to try a different" experience, in this case, eating a blood sausage, whose essential ingredient is your own blood, becomes a turning point in your life when choosing food in following goes on to be a much more conscious act, "he says on his official website.

The initiative aims to make people contact Escuín via Instagram to experience the experience. "First, the extraction of blood by a professional (with all the necessary health guarantees), then the preparation and presentation of the chosen recipe, which is part of the work of the cook, and finally the tasting of the dish ", is explained in the website

The recipe, meanwhile, has caused all kinds of comments on social networks. Also many women have asked Escuín if it is possible to prepare the recipe with menstrual blood. He, for his part, explained that it is not convenient, because this blood, he says, is not "clean" like venous blood.

Before the comments of those asking if the practice is legal, Escuín said yes, because, in essence, "extracting blood in private places is not considered a crime" in the city of Teruel, Spain.
