As if a long winter had ended. As if a war was over.
“It’s over,” calls the jogger on 12th Street. “It’s over,” calls the woman in front of the bar. The firefighters honk their horn in their car, even the bus driver. Some of the neighbors go to the roof terrace, others go to the White House, take their children and a bottle of champagne with them. They dance on the streets of Washington, they dance on the streets of New York, Philadelphia and Chicago.
And when you wake up on Sunday, you’ll see similar headlines on all front pages and news portals, in capital letters: CHOICE OFFER. BIDEN WINS. BIDEN AND HARRIS MAKE HISTORY.
