Maria Meşter was employed as a housekeeper in Italy, Milan, but quickly found a way to raise far more money than her modest job. Tired of cleaning the dust and cleaning the homes of Italians, she discovered unsuspected whims, so she resigned and left Italy. And he showed extraordinary inventiveness and courage when, together with his son, Bogdan Savastru and two other Romanians, Alexandru Stan and Sorin Marcovici, he committed several thefts, most of them in London.

The blow of life

According to the BBC, Maria Meşter, aided by the other three members of the gang, dealt the blow of her life on December 13, 2019. On December 13, 2019, the Romanian robbed the villa of Tamara Ecclestone, the daughter of the tycoon owner of Formula 1. , where he stole jewelery and items worth £ 25 million.

Maria took advantage of the fact that Tamara and her husband, Jay Rutland, had gone on a three-week vacation and entered the lavish mansion unhindered, from where they stole a number of valuables. British journalists say Romanians behaved like Spiderman.

According to prosecutors, they only stole a precious collection of jewelry from the home of the billionaire’s daughter, including a Cartier watch that received a wedding gift worth 95,000 euros. At the same time, the tycoon’s daughter also claimed the disappearance of some valuable rings and earrings, as well as a bracelet worth over $ 100,000. Earlier, on 1 December, the Romanians broke into the mansion of Frank Lapard, the Chelsea manager, where they too left with a rich booty.

Attorney Paul Jarvis noted the difficulty of the action, as gang members had to climb several fences and cross two other properties, so the risk they were exposed to was significant. Between the two thefts, the four Romanians also broke into the family residence of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the late owner of the Leicester football team, from where they stole items worth a million pounds.

He walked with earrings stolen from his ear

However, British prosecutors have not ruled out the possibility that Maria Meşter may have given more blows, with thefts reaching the staggering figure of 60 million pounds.

The Romanian woman was caught and arrested shortly after the robbery at London’s Stansted airport as she prepared to flee to Japan. At the time, she was wearing a pair of £ 300,000 earrings stolen from Tamara Ecclestone’s mansion. Investigators found other evidence, including a photo posted by Maria on Facebook wearing a necklace belonging to the tycoon’s daughter.

His son, Bogdan Savastru, was also arrested a few days later, but at another London airport, Heathrow. Subsequently, the other two members of the gang, Alexandru Stan, a security officer, were arrested along with bartender Sorin Marcovici. All four deny taking part in the robberies, but in this case they are officially indicted and the trial takes place at Isleworth Crown Court.
