A newborn child died of burns in a makeshift incubator in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and the government now demands that those responsible be identified.
According to the website 20 minutes, the incident occurred in a hospital in the city of Warnes where, in the absence of an incubator, the child was placed near a stove, according to a press release by the Bolivian vice-president.
"It is said that the child cried for hours, with burns, and that there was no one, we ask that those responsible be found," said Bolivian vice-president Álvaro García Linera.
"This can not happen again, this kind of negligence," says the statement.
According to local media, the child's mother is a child under the age of 15. The health secretary of the Santa Cruz government has no doubt that "there was negligence" when he improvised an incubator.
