Kim Han-sol, 25, a rich young man, is the son of Kim Jong-nam, Kim’s half-brother who is said to have been killed with a neurotoxic agent by order of the dictator in 2017.
North Korean dissident group Free Joseon claims to have helped Kim’s grandson escape North Korea after his father’s death, the New Yorker reported on nzherald.com.
The leader of the group said he had never met a young man so rich: he would always have a lot of money with him and would wear the most luxurious brands. Adrian Hong believes that his father – the eldest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il – hid large sums of money during his life.
This luck would have helped the nephew of the current North Korean leader to disappear after the murder of his father. He would have been helped by the CIA.
Hong claims the dissident group removed him from his residence in Macau, an autonomous administrative region of China. The boy reportedly contacted the Free Joseon movement in 2013 after showing interest in reporting human rights violations in North Korea.
Han-sol allegedly called Hong after noting that “the police guarding his house had disappeared.”
He is alleged to have met the group members two days after his father’s death in Taipei, Taiwan, and boarded a plane to take him to the Netherlands, where he intended to seek asylum.
Two CIA agents are said to have intercepted him in Taipei and later took him into custody to protect him.
Han-sol’s last public appearance was in a 40-second clip posted after his father’s death.
“My name is Kim Han-sol and I am from North Korea. I am part of Kim’s family. This is my passport. My father was killed a few days ago. Next to me are my mother and my sister.”
