London goes into lockdown today, a measure that will last until 2 December. The terraces of Oxford Street were full and Londoners broke into the clothing stores.

Londoners took advantage of the last moments of freedom. They walked all day before the second block. They went out onto the terrace, sang on the street, and waited patiently in line to enter the shops and secure their winter clothes.

“They want to do some shopping too. The situation is different from the first block. I think people were much more anxious and much more scared of what was about to happen,” said Ginny Burnett, a shop owner.

“I do things that I don’t think I can do for a while. For example, I got my nails done and cut my hair,” says one student.
