The Cabinet was then briefed on the state of play regarding efforts to tackle the pandemic by Health Minister Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah.
The minister recalled that the number of tampons has exceeded one million, making up about 23.6 percent of the total population, and that the percentage of those recovered has reached 93 percent.
The minister warned, however, of a fluctuation in the number of cases, which requires greater dedication and continued adherence to health measures and guidelines.
Ministers continued to discuss the committee’s recommendations on government preparations ahead of this year’s rainy season.
The Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the Central Agency for Public Procurement and the competent authorities, have been instructed to take the necessary actions to speed up the process.
On a regional and international scale, the Cabinet extended its sincere congratulations to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tareq Al-Saeed and his people on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of National Day, which falls on Wednesday.
The ministers praised the great achievements that the Sultanate has achieved towards progress and prosperity and the warm fraternal ties between the leaderships and populations of the two countries, wishing the Sultanate further growth and prosperity. (end)
