Antibodies to the corona virus were detected in a baby born in Singapore earlier this month. The baby’s mother was found to have survived the corona virus in March.
Covid-19 antibodies were detected in the baby of a woman named Celine Ng-Chan, who survived the corona virus in Singapore in March and gave birth earlier this month.
Fearing infecting her baby with the coronavirus despite overcoming the disease, Ng-Chan gave birth in the hospital earlier this month without complications.
TRANSFERRED OWN ANTIBODIES TO THE CHILD
Speaking to Straits Times, one of Singapore’s widely read newspapers, Ng-Chan said: “My doctors suspected that I had transferred my Covid-19 antibodies to my son during my birth. As a result of the tests performed, we found that my son had the Covid-19 antibodies that were fighting the coronavirus outbreak. But we found that the Covid-19 antibodies in my body were gone, “he said.
While it was alleged that Ng-Chan defeated the coronavirus in two and a half weeks, an investigation into the incident was launched. It has been claimed that Celine Ng-Chan’s son Aldrin is in good health and immune to the virus.
The World Health Organization has not made any statements on the matter.
