After all, TAP will not return to Venezuela next December, as originally planned.

According to a statement by the Venezuelan Civil Aviation Institute, the airports of Maiquetía, Maracaibo, Porlamar, Barcelona, Barquisimeto, Valencia, Punto Fijo, San Antonio del Táchira, Santo Domingo, Puerto Ordaz, Maturín and Caracas remain prohibited international flights, from 11 November to 11 February.

The note issued by the Venezuelan authorities states that outside of these bans there are “aerocommercial operations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the sister countries of Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Iran and Panama”.

These measures, according to the Venezuelan Institute of Civil Aeronautics, go in compliance with the rules of the national executive in order to contain the spread of the covid-19 pandemic.

Recall that in September it was reported that TAP would resume operations in Caracas from 15 December, with two flights per week. The connection between Lisbon and Caracas provided by the national air carrier has been suspended since February this year.

The document released by the same airline added that starting from December “TAP will start operating two flights a week between the capitals of Portugal and Venezuela, on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing from Lisbon at 10:00 and arriving in Caracas at 14:40. “. “In the opposite direction, TAP flights will depart Venezuela at 5:10 pm, arriving at Humberto Delgado airport at 5:15 am the next day (local time),” according to the company.

With this new measure adopted by the Venezuelan authorities, this connection between Portugal and Venezuela is therefore suspended until 11 February.
