Sudan, South Sudan discuss bilateral ties

The president of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the President of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, spoke on Wednesday to discuss bilateral ties.

According to the Facebook page of the South Sudan Presidential Press Unit, Kiir reiterated that South Sudan's support for the Republic of Sudan is driven by a sincere desire to live in peace.

Burhan thanked the president of South Sudan for his continued support for the Sudanese people.

The South Sudanese leader and al-Burhan had also met in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on the sidelines of the ceremony of signing a power-sharing agreement between the Sudan Military Transitional Council (TMC) and the Forces Alliance for Freedom for Change (FFC) of the opposition August 17th.
