Khartoum – The president of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday evening.
In the phone call, Al-Burhan and Pompeo discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and the United States and ways to strengthen them, as well as issues of mutual concern at regional and international level.
They also discussed provisions relating to the removal of Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism in the coming weeks.
They also examined the events in the Republic of Ethiopia and the need to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in a way that ensures regional peace and strengthens security in the region.
The US Secretary of State expressed his country’s appreciation for Sudan, which hosts Ethiopian refugees, despite the exceptional economic conditions it is experiencing.
