Agnes von der Mühll said that France does not recognize the “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” and said that France’s responsibility as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group is to work towards the solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem through negotiations.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement, the French ambassador to Baku, Zacharie Gross, was called to the ministry today and Azerbaijan’s protest note was delivered.

Mühll assessed that the priority today should be for the displaced in Nagorno-Karabakh to be able to return to their homes.
Affirming that the Minister of State for Trade Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne did not recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Agnes von der Mühll said that her country will continue to work to stabilize the situation in the South Caucasus.
Mühll stated that his country will contribute to the negotiation process after the ceasefire agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia within the framework of the OSCE Group in Minsk, the departure of “foreign fighters” from the region and the preservation of historical heritage and cultural.
HUMANITARIAN AID WILL BE PROVIDED
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mühll also said that France has provided humanitarian aid to the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The day before the Senate passed the resolution calling on the French government to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
In the ceasefire agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, there is no element indicating the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. Furthermore, according to the United Nations (UN), Nagorno-Karabakh is considered Azerbaijani territory.
