Madrid, the Basque Country, Comunidad Valenciana, Navarra, Murcia and Catalonia have announced that they will be closed between 4 and 14 December, in order to avoid the trips generated each year by the Constitution Day, marked on 6 December.

Spain has reached 1.55 million cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection and 42,619 associated deaths, after 15,156 new contaminations and 328 deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

The incidence is 419 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

The Comunidad Madrid has become the peninsular territory with the lowest accumulated incidence – 285 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It will be closed from 4 to 14 December, as well as the territories of the Basque Country, Comunidad Valenciana, Navarra, Murcia and Catalonia.

In Melilla and Catalonia, the venues will reopen on Monday, with time and capacity restrictions.

The perimeter closure will make it impossible to move between cities and regions. The activities will continue in the form already established.

The head of the Spanish executive, Pedro Sánchez, will approve the vaccination strategy against Covid-19 on Tuesday, through which a large part of the population will be vaccinated “guaranteed” in the first half of 2021.
