Ripple and three other blockchain-based companies have formed an association of lobbyists that would represent their interest in Europe, according to their press release. Nicknamed "Blockchain for Europe", the pressure group aims to create a credible and unified voice for industry in Europe.

The members of the new group of blockchain lobbyists are Ripple, NEM, Fetch.AI, EMURGO / Cardano, who share a common vision of making Europe grow into a pioneer, in which blockchain technology is concerned. To do so, the association would try to help Europe create "smart regulation to shape the global agenda on the blockchain".

"The objectives of the association are to foster the understanding of the institutions of the EU and of the Member States on the true nature and potential of DLT (blocked cap) and distribution technology and to ensure that the # 39; imminent regulation promotes and promotes innovation in Europe, "the press release reads.

The association has already started making meaningful decisions. Last month he hosted the Blockchain for Europe Summit, which discussed issues such as governance, health care and commerce, and how the technology of distributed ledger could be integrated into them.

"There is a lack of impartial information, especially when it comes to open and decentralized [sic] application of technology ", noted Kristof Van de Reck, co-founder of NEM.

The summit, which saw the participation of four of the largest groups in the European Parliament, highlighted the benefits of nascent technology for both blockchain-based societies and policy makers when they cooperate and collaborate.

"We aim to provide insights that are not adapted to the agenda of specific organizations or stakeholders, and Ripple is delighted to be a founding member of Blockchain for Europe, which is a critical moment for policy makers in Europe because they seek to develop the right regulatory framework to reap the benefits of both digital resources and blockchain technology, "said Dan Morgan, Head of Regulatory Relations, Ripple Europe.

As in the rest of the world, the regulatory framework has been fragmented across Europe, but inconsistent information that has been churned out by politicians has been consistent. At the start of this year, the European Union said it would hold an informal meeting and perhaps strengthen the regulations on fears that cryptocurrency could be used for terrorist financing and for ;tax evasion.
