On Saturday there were violent clashes between police and demonstrators marching to the prime minister’s official residence on Balfour Street in Jerusalem.

Protesters marched to Balfour to protest the recent decision not to investigate the Submarine Affair.

Israeli police reported arresting 18 protesters, but protesters say 23 people, including a minor, were arrested and taken to a police station.

Some of the protesters were arrested on Highway 1 as police barricaded part of the highway in an attempt to stop the protesters.

“The protesters started marching endangering themselves and bystanders. They ignored the police and some of them even confronted the police officers at the scene,” a police statement read.
