Poland reports the highest number of deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic on Saturday – 548 people died, according to EFE, cited by Agerpres. The total number of victims thus rises to 10,045 deaths from COVID-19 in Poland.

Between March and April, the country experienced a more moderate evolution in terms of SARS-CoV-2 infection than other countries, until the figures started to rise in September. In the last 24 hours, 25,571 cases have been registered, which reveals a certain slowdown compared to the maximum number reached last Saturday, when 27,875 infections were recorded.

The total balance of COVID-19 cases reached 691,118, which calls into question the country’s public health capacity, although temporary hospitals have been established in various cities to bolster existing capacity.

On Saturday, 7 November, new restrictions on social life and economic activity entered into force in Poland, including a ban on meetings with more than five people.
