A Gorj man was caught fleeing the country to Dubai after sexually exploiting several girls, a minor. The Gorjean, aided by his father, got 500,000 euros, money from which he bought houses in Hungary, a car and a luxury vacation, and the rest of the money he put in Switzerland, according to Mediafax.
Police say they have investigated a case of human trafficking, child trafficking, prostitution and money laundering, in which two men were arrested.
On Thursday, a 30-year-old man from Gorj County was caught at an airport in Bucharest, allegedly trying to leave Romania on his way to Dubai. In addition, on Thursday, police conducted three home searches in Gorj County, following which 12 cell phones, bank cards, documents relating to foreign money transfers and € 6,900 were made unavailable.
Research has shown that, since 2015, the man has recruited, transported, transferred and hosted three victims in the country and abroad, including a minor, for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
Moreover, from 2015 to date, with the help of other people, it would have determined and facilitated the practice of prostitution for 15 young women, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The man would have benefited from the criminal activity of about 500,000 euros. Part of that amount would have been “laundered” through a company acquired by man for that purpose.
With the money obtained, the man bought houses in Hungary and luxury cars. The money was also deposited in safety deposit boxes in various banks in Switzerland
According to DIICOT, the man posted marriage announcements with pictures of girls on various sites in order to attract clients and rent various properties where they practiced prostitution. Communication with customers took place exclusively through social networks, since Gorjean was the one who identified the customers and established the rate, using a single mobile terminal for each young woman who prostituted them, thus having absolute control.
The man was helped by his father who transported the young women to prostitution and took over the sums of money deriving from this activity.
Part of the money thus obtained was used by the suspects to buy real estate in Hungary, a luxury car and luxury holidays, and the rest was deposited in safe deposit boxes in various banks in Switzerland.
Gorjean and his father, 52, were detained for 24 hours and will be presented on Friday to the magistrates of the Gorj Court.
