In the last 24 hours, 4,272 new cases of coronavirus have been reported, out of 14,588 tests performed. Another 199 Romanians died after being infected with COVID-19. 1,259 patients are hospitalized in intensive care.
To date, 479,634 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Romania on 1 December. 360,934 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,272 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) have been recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.
The 14-day accumulated infection coefficient, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality and the counties of Bucharest. Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the re-examination of patients who were already positive, 455 people were positively reconfirmed.
To date, 11,530 people have died diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Between 30.11.2020 (10:00) – 01.12.2020 (10:00) 199 deaths (130 men and 69 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iaşi, Maramlașea, Mareșea, Vasică, Simi Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 13 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 14 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 51 deaths in the age category 60- 69 years, 66 deaths in the 70-79 age group and 53 deaths in the over 80 age group.
178 of the deaths recorded concerned some patients with comorbidities, 5 deceased patients had no comorbidities and for 16 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,438. Of these, 1,259 are hospitalized at ATI.
To date, 4,122,192 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 14,588 were performed in the past 24 hours, 9,551 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 5,037 on request.
Furthermore, from the latest information provided by GCS, the results of 37 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted by December 1st were reported.
In Romania, 45,863 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 12,186 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 65,772 people are quarantined at home and 63 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,851 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 661 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), mainly open to inform citizens.
Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, police and gendarmes applied, on 30 November this year, 6,653 penalties for minor crimes, equal to 1,175,080 lei.
Moreover, through the competent police structures, 5 crimes were ascertained yesterday to combat the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 criminal code.
“We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has made operational, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the health protection regulations can be reported. The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the local structures for the verification of the notified aspects ”, is specified in the financial statements.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 127 Romanian citizens abroad, 32 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
