According to reports, the overthrown leader of Sudan Omar al-Bashir confessed to having received $ 90 million in cash from Saudi Arabia.
The case of Bashir, accused of illegal possession of money, acceptance of gifts and corruption, began to be held in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.
Ahmed Ali, who testified in court, during Bashir's interrogation stated that the money had been brought by the delegates of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.
Bashir, who attended the court wearing the traditional white-toothed suit and wearing a turban, listened to the expression in the cage in which he was held, but did not comment.
An AFP correspondent in front of the court reported that Bashir was taken to the courtroom accompanied by a large military convoy.
Bashir's sentence, which lasted almost 30 years, ended in an April coup after months of protests.
Prosecutors claimed that Omar al-Bashir's home had more than $ 100 million in cash and that the deposed leader would be investigated for money laundering.
A provisional constitution was adopted on Saturday following an agreement between high-ranking members and representatives of the protesters who took power after the overthrow of Bashir.
Omar al-Bashir was fired for the first time on June 16 when he went to the prosecutor's office to testify.
In May, Chief Prosecutor Bashir was also blamed for the deaths during anti-regime protests.
The former 75-year-old president Bashir, accused of war crimes and genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan, was arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Bashir denies these allegations.
