A two-year-old boy crashed Sunday in a 150-meter-deep pit and about 30 to 40 cm in diameter in the Dolmen Del Cerro De La Corona region of Malaga, Spain.
The alarm was given around 2:00 pm (1:00 pm in Lisbon), at which time rescue teams were recalled to the scene.
According to the Spanish government, this is a prospecting pit to look for water. The deputy Francisco Delgado Bonilla, underlined the "technical complexity" involved in the rescue work, reporting the press releases to the Press Europe that the good in question "apparently had no protection".
The boy's rescue job lasted all night and was hampered by a landslide in that area. More than a hundred members of the Civil Guard staff were employed for relief efforts.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil told reporters that they will not stop until the boy is withdrawn and they hope to remove him alive.
I share the anguish of the family of a two-year-old who has fallen into a pit # Totalán #Rum raisin.
All my support to parents and emergency teams participating in the rescue. We hope for the best result. https://t.co/z3CeGMfJET– Pedro Sánchez (@sanchezcastejon) January 13, 2019
