The grandson of North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un, Kim Han-sol, has disappeared after a meeting with US intelligence. He was last seen at the Taipei airport.
According to “Mirror”, Kim Han-sol has had contact with the dissident group “Free Joseon”. The 25-year-old is said to have addressed the regime’s critical organization for the first time in 2017 when his father Kim Jong-nam, Kim Jong-un’s half-brother, was killed with a neurotoxin at Kuala Lumpur airport. He contacted the group again in 2020 when he noticed police officers were watching his home.
According to media reports, Kim Han-sol wanted to flee to Amsterdam with her mother and sister to apply for asylum there. When he arrived in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, he met with Free Joseon activists at the airport. According to their own statements, they have negotiated asylum applications with three different countries. When the family wanted to fly to Amsterdam, they were denied boarding. Hours later, CIA agents intercepted them and there has been no trace of them since.
As the “New York Post” writes, he, his mother and his sister are kept in a secret place by US intelligence agents. “I assume that the Han-sol group of activists lost to the CIA,” said Sue Mi Terry, a former CIA agent. When the newspaper asked, the CIA refused to provide any information.
