The accident occurred on a farm in the village of La Julia, 5 kilometers from the urban area, as mayor Carlos Mario Villada explained to the newspaper El Colombiano.

General Juan Carlos Ramírez, commander of the 7th Army Division, said via his official Twitter account: “Given information about a violent incident in Bethany, Antioquia, army troops are carrying out military operations in the area to protect the population. . The Coordinator of the Observatory for Human Rights and Conflicts of Indepaz, Leonardo González Parafan, commented that in Bethany the communities denounced the lack of control and the absence from the state, adding that “not everything is drug trafficking, there are various factors and interests that facilitate the presence of armed groups “.

Indepaz himself denounced that to date 303 people have been killed in 76 massacres, being the Antioquia region where the largest number of 18 have occurred, followed by Cauca with 12, Nariño 9 and Norte de Santander with 6 massacres. .

Hours earlier, the National Army confirmed that five people lost their lives and two more were injured in the midst of a new massacre in the village of El Mango, a rural area of ​​the municipality of Argelia, in southern Cauca.

Brigadier General Marco Vinicio Mayorga Niño, commander of the Third Division, stressed that the violent events took place in a nightclub, where a crossfire occurred in the middle of a case under investigation.
