President Cyril Ramaphosa will travel to Mozambique on Monday for a work visit and bilateral talks with his counterpart, President Filipe Nyusi.
The two presidents should discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of common concern, the presidency said today.
The talks between the two neighboring countries are a continuation of cordial high-level commitments stemming from the initiative of President Ramaphosa to consolidate the excellent bilateral relations that go back to the liberation struggle.
As such, Mozambique was among the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries that President Ramaphosa visited shortly after taking over the presidency in 2018.
"South Africa and Mozambique enjoy excellent economic, political and cultural relations that go back to the days of the struggle against apartheid," said the high office.
Since then, relations between the two countries have spread to different areas, including agriculture, art and culture, trade and investment, energy, mining, banking, telecommunications, defense and security, water, environment, transport, immigration and science. and technology.
President Ramaphosa will be accompanied by the Minister of Defense Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, the Minister of Police Bheki Cele and the Minister of State Security Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba during the visit.
