Officials went down to the scene, photographed themselves with the object and even remembered the film “2001: A Space Odyssey”, as a similar monolith appears in it.

After the find went viral (as it was recorded on video and photo), the Utah Department of Security reported that there was no information on who could locate the object in the desert.
The body also reminded citizens that “It is illegal to install structures or works of art without authorization on public land administered by the federal government, no matter which planet you come from. “

“We have received credible evidence that the sculpture was removed from an unknown person”, noted the Utah Land Management Agency.
