Peter Kigen, who has a chronic illness, was rushed to Kapkatet hospital after he passed out at home in Kenya.
The death was eventually declared in hospital and the 32-year-old man was transferred to the morgue. According to the Mirror newspaper, Kigen woke up crying as officials made an incision in his right leg as part of the embalming process.
In a first reaction, the employees were shocked and then took the patient back to the hospital emergency room so that he could be observed.
“I didn’t even know where I was when I regained consciousness, but I thank God for saving my life. I will serve you for the rest of my life.” the man said.
