Nicolás Maduro decreed Monday an increase in the full minimum wage for workers.
The minimum wage increased from 4,500 bolívares to 18,000 bolívares while the food bonus, located in Bs 450, was 1,800, for a total of 19,800 bolívares.
Maduro announced the increase of the integral minimum wage in a live broadcast before the constituent national assembly, where he presented his report and his report. Furthermore, he indicated that from January 15th all the salary tables will be adapted.
This increase represents at least 300% compared to the last announcement made at the beginning of December.
In 2018, Maduro announced five wage increases. The first was in January, the second in March, the third in April, the fourth in June and the fifth in November.
