Both Lula and Rosángela Silva “have undergone several tests for covid-19 in the past few weeks since Doña Vani’s disease was diagnosed,” and in all cases they have been negative, the statement said.

Known as Doña Vani, the mother of Lula’s companion died the day after the former president celebrated his 75th birthday, although he did so in complete privacy and seclusion in his home in Sao Bernardo do Campo with Rosángela. , with whom he has lived since he was released from prison in November last year.

Lula freely resorts to a sentence for corruption which has already been confirmed in the third degree to 8 years and 10 months of imprisonment, of which he has served a third party and on which he awaits the outcome of an appeal presented by his defense before the Supreme Court .
