US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed Anthony Blinken as Secretary of State.
Biden has announced the names that will hold important positions in his cabinet.
Announcing that he would take Blinken, a senior foreign policy advisor, in place of the State Department, Joe Biden selected Sullivan as his national security adviser.
Blinken, 58, who is also Biden’s deputy on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was Deputy Secretary of State and Deputy National Security Advisor during Obama’s tenure.

According to the CNBC report, Joe Biden is expected to elect former Fed Chairman Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary. If the appointment is made, Yellen will be the first woman in history to become the first female secretary to the Treasury after the presidency of the US Federal Reserve.
Biden also chose Avril Haines for the United States National Intelligence Directorate. Haines was the former CIA Vice President and Deputy National Security Advisor in the Baracak Obama administration. She will be the first woman to appoint Haines director of national intelligence.
