The large-scale police operation in an office building in Montreal has ended. Earlier there was talk of a possible hostage situation on social media. Local police, however, could not confirm this. The authorities gave the green light on Twitter: “No threats have been identified, there have been no injuries.”
Photos and videos shared on social networks, among other things, showed numerous police officers, some of them heavily armed. Special forces and a helicopter were also in action. Several streets in the area have been marked out.
In the affected area there is, among other things, a building of the video game provider Ubisoft. Numerous employees were on the roof of the building.
The police now want to start further investigations.
