According to Agerpres, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on Thursday referred to the existence of a “causal relationship” between illegal migration, the growing threat of terrorism and violence based on religious extremism in Europe, MTI reports.
Commenting on the meeting of EU foreign ministers, Szijjarto said on Facebook that he proposed to EU foreign ministers to discuss ways to stop migration outside the bloc’s borders as soon as possible.
He also proposed to hold a debate on the European Commission’s migration package, which encouraged people to consider moving to Europe.
According to Szijjarto, the mandatory quotas for welcoming migrants, which he insisted the EC and the “Brussels bureaucrats” want to keep, should be immediately removed from the agenda, as they remain on the agenda. On the Brussels agenda, hundreds of thousands of migrants will consider it safe to leave for Europe.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister added that if migration flows are not stopped, it will be impossible to stop the spread of terrorism and violence in Europe.
