In the last 24 hours there have been 4,931 new cases of COVID-19, out of 11,266 tests performed. Another 149 Romanians died after being infected with the coronavirus. 1,187 COVID patients are hospitalized in intensive care.
To date, on November 16, 365,212 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed in Romania.
246,633 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,931 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) have been recorded, being cases that had not previously had a positive test.
To date, 9,075 people have died diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
According to data reported by the authorities, the county of Sibiu is approaching a rate of 9 infections per thousand inhabitants.
Between 15.11.2020 (10:00) – 16.11.2020 (10:00) 149 deaths (86 men and 63 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureu, Suceaş Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 30-39, 4 deaths in the age group 40-49, 7 deaths in the age group 50-59, 36 deaths in the age group 60- 69, 50 deaths in the 70-79 age group and 51 deaths in the over 80 category.
141 of the deaths recorded concern some patients with comorbidities, 5 deceased patients did not have comorbidities and for 3 patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In health care units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,467. Of these, 1,187 are hospitalized at ATI.
To date, 3,702,328 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 11,266 were performed in the past 24 hours, 7,499 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 3,767 upon request.
In Romania, 47,397 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 13,229 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 80,152 people are quarantined at home and 17 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,522 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112.
Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, police and gendarmes applied, on November 15 this year, 9,930 penalties for minor crimes, for a total of 1,988,595 lei.
Furthermore, through the competent police structures, 7 crimes were ascertained yesterday to combat the fight against diseases, an act envisaged and punished by art. 352 criminal code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has made operational, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be reported.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified problems.
As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,862 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in the United Kingdom, 36 in Hungary, 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
