On Wednesday noon, two fishermen were on the north-east bank of a dredging hole in Feldkirch (A) when they saw several shots from the opposite side of the pool. They observed a person who had shot the cormorants.
After the man changed his position, the fishermen noticed a shot about five to ten meters away, which is why they immediately called the police. Officers from the Feldkirch Police Station found out through the local fisheries inspector that the hunter responsible in this area would always shoot from his car.
Jäger is unreasonable
The 77-year-old hunter, who was found at his place of residence shortly thereafter, said he had previously searched for the cormorants in the excavator hole and also shot them. He also noticed the two fishermen and paid attention to them. However, he was unreasonable about the danger he caused and downplayed his behavior.
Police officers imposed a temporary ban on weapons and confiscated all weapons and ammunition from him. An unregistered pistol and related ammunition were also seized. The 77-year-old is reported to the Feldkirch public prosecutor’s office for endangering physical security and unauthorized possession of weapons.
