US justice investigates an alleged plot that aimed to influence the White House to obtain pardons President Donald Trump, in exchange for generous political donations, as reported The Washington Post. Court documents released on Tuesday indicate that prosecutors investigated the activities of people who contacted Trump officials with the aim of obtaining a pardon. The documents, which date back to last August, are censored and do not identify any of the people involved in the alleged plot, nor do they provide information on the status of the investigation, Efe reports.

US Attorney General William Barr assured Tuesday in an interview with the AP that the Justice Department found no evidence of fraud in the November 3 election. “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have changed the outcome of the elections,” said attorney Barr.

The reactions from the Trump team didn’t take long. In a statement Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, Trump’s lawyers, overruled attorney Barr. “With all due respect to the Attorney General, there has been no investigation by the Department of Justice …” Again, with the utmost respect for the Attorney General, your opinion appears to be unb ‘investigation of substantial irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud’, they warned in the document.
