Sterling made no secret of his bewilderment and justified his anger at the threats that southern state election officials would endure. Trump was narrowly defeated by election winner Joe Biden. Trump and his confidants have been raising the mood against election leaders in Georgia for weeks, for example against Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who claims he has received death threats. Trump himself recently made derogatory comments on Governor Brian Kemp, who feels disappointed in his attempts to overturn the election result.
On Tuesday he asked him to do something about the election result. “You allowed your state to be betrayed,” Trump accused his party colleague on Twitter. He called on him to call off the ballot election for two Senate seats in January, the result of which could break Republican dominance in the important House of Congress.
US President Donald Trump challenged the US state election results in the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday. The complaint says election workers were instructed to add missing information to ballot papers and issue postal ballots without a question. Furthermore, the count was partly in public parks and not in polling stations, the text reads. A spokesperson for the Wisconsin Supreme Court said there was no deadline for dealing with the case.
Suffrage experts believe the lawsuit may have a better chance than other recent court cases. However, the court is very unlikely to allow the motion to invalidate 221,323 votes for absence.
