Given the uncertain outcome of the presidential election, people took to the streets in several cities across the United States. According to media reports, there have sometimes been violent riots. Many Trump supporters have shown that they stop the vote count. A majority of Biden’s supporters called for every vote to be counted. Some demonstrators carried guns.

On Wednesday night in Phoenix, Arizona, several dozen Trump supporters gathered in front of a government building, where votes were counted. Several people carried weapons such as automatic rifles, a CNN reporter reported and was shown in the pictures.

According to the reporter, some asked for the count to stop. Others, however, wanted all votes to be counted in the hope that Trump would catch up with Democrat Joe Biden anyway. In the southwestern state, it wasn’t clear until recently which of the two candidates would win the close race.

20 arrests in New York

In Portland, Oregon, there were riots on the sidelines of a rally on Wednesday evening. Numerous people demanded that every vote be counted. The shop windows were destroyed and a large American flag was illuminated, as can be seen in the pictures. The police spoke of loaded weapons and fireworks launched at the police officers. The National Guard was also activated. As expected, Democrat Joe Biden won seven voters with a clear majority in the West Coast state.

Clashes between demonstrators and police officers also took place in New York on Wednesday night. Police reported arresting more than 20 people. They wanted to hijack a peaceful protest. The weapons have been secured. As expected, Biden also won here.

In Detroit, Michigan, a group of protesters gathered in front of a counting office and shouted, “Stop the count.” Meanwhile, dozens of protesters gathered in a street demonstration demanding that every vote be counted. The slogan “Count every vote” could be read on numerous banners. Protests were also reported in Chicago and Philadelphia and, according to the New York Times, several hundred protesters blocked a federal highway in Minneapolis.
