Donald Trump has often caused confusion with bizarre comments on Twitter. This time, however, he must have angered some of his own fans: he first announced a press conference at the luxurious “Four Seasons” hotel in Philadelphia, and then changed the location of the event several times in several tweets, as reported by “Independent”. Finally he wrote that the conference would take place on the premises of the “Four Seasons” landscaping company.
There was no further explanation for the choice of location. It is unclear if the wrong location was booked by mistake or if Trump was misinformed.
The actual venue caused further irritation among the attendees. The journalists who spoke about the press conference could not believe it: images and videos on social media show how they look in disbelief at their surroundings. Chain fences block access to the courtyards of an industrial area and a lectern is installed in front of the garage door. Large areas of Donald Trump’s campaign posters are attached to the gate. Reporter Richard Hall described his impressions as follows: “I arrived at the ‘Four Seasons’ nursery. It is next to an adult bookstore called ‘Fantasy Island’.”
SkyNews reporter Mark Stone reported that Trump’s team tried to move the garden equipment aside before the conference began. “A somewhat surreal place …” he wrote about the place.
Shortly before the press conference began, Joe Biden was declared the winner of the US presidential election. Trump had previously tweeted: “I won the election by lengths!”
