The Czech government will allow non-essential restaurants and shops to reopen on Thursday, amidst the current wave of the coronavirus pandemic eases, Health Minister Jan Blatny announced Sunday, according to Reuters.
The Czech Republic will reduce the risk level from 4 to 3 (on a scale of 5), which means that all shops and restaurants can open, but must limit the number of customers to allow social distancing, writes agerpres.ro .

In addition, the ban on leaving the house at night will be lifted, but the bars will have to close by 10pm.
Museums and art galleries may be open to limited capacity and individual indoor sporting activities may be resumed.

People can come together in groups of up to 50 outside and up to 10 inside, compared to a maximum of six currently.
The government is aware that easing restrictions could slow the number of cases, but intends to counter this by increasing antigen testing, the health minister said.

“The shorter the opening time of stores before Christmas, the greater the concentration of people in the stores,” he said at a news conference.
The total number of cases of contagion reached 518,649 on Saturday and that of 8,054 deaths in this country of 10.7 million inhabitants.
The daily number of new cases has dropped below 5,000 in six of the past seven days.
