A mutated version of the coronavirus was found in twelve patients in North Jutland, Denmark. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that the virus had mutated under the mink and was then passed on to humans.
Warns that a future vaccine may not help with the mutated virus. And this could spread to Denmark and possibly around the world.
The Danish government has therefore decided to take a drastic step: all the minks in the country will be killed. Millions of animals – extinct.
Corona cases in over 200 mink farms
Mink fur is popular for furs, among other things. Denmark is the world’s largest producer of mink fur. There are currently 1,139 herds and around 15-17 million mink in the country.
According to the Danish authorities, crown cases have already been found on over 200 farms. The fur population has already been killed in 67 farms. The government assured me that the mink farmers would be compensated. (hah)
