CORONAVIRUS Romania. Over 8,400 new cases in the last 24 hours. 172 people died and the situation is critical in intensive care

According to the report sent by the authorities on Friday 27 November 2020, 8,499 new cases of COVID-19 and 172 deaths caused by the disease have been recorded in the last 24 hours. There are currently 1,226 patients in the ICU.

Since the start of the pandemic to date, 457,848 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed in Romania. 326,657 patients were reported cured.

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 8,499 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

More than 10,800 deaths since the start of the pandemic

Since the start of the pandemic to date, 10,884 people have died diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

“Between 26.11.2020 (10:00) – 27.11.2020 (10:00) 172 deaths were reported (109 men and 63 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in the hospitals of Alba, Arges, Arad , Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Bihor, Botosani, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Cluj, Constanta, Dambovita, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomita, Iasi, Maramures, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt , Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timis, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, one death was recorded in the 20-29 age group, two deaths in the 30-39 age group, six deaths in the 40-49 age group, 11 deaths in the 50 age group -59 years, 39 deaths in the age group 60-69, 62 deaths in the age group 70-79 and 51 deaths in the category over 80 years.

165 of the recorded deaths are of some patients with comorbidities, three deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for four deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far “, reads a GCS statement.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,157. Of these, 1,226 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 4,048,536 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 35,610 were performed in the past 24 hours, 23,026 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 12,584 upon request.
Furthermore, from the latest information provided by GCS, the results of 1,039 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until November 27th were reported.

On the Romanian territory, 46,856 people confirmed infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home and 11,916 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 69,180 people are quarantined at home and there are 62 people in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 4,803 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 629 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically to inform citizens.


Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 26 this year, 6,345 fines, for a total of 1,018,355 lei.
Furthermore, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police Forces, 2 crimes were ascertained for combating the fight against diseases, an act envisaged and punished by art. 352 criminal code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has made operational, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be reported.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

Romanians abroad

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,876 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,936 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in Great Britain, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 11 in the Republic of Moldova and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 127 Romanian citizens abroad, 32 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.
Among Romanian citizens confirmed with novel coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Record of the coronavirus epidemic in Romania

The highest number of patients admitted to ATI was recorded on November 26. 1,226 Romanians were in serious condition in hospitals.

The largest number of deaths was recorded on 11 November. 203 Romanians have died from COVID-19.

The largest number of new cases were reported on 18 November. 10,269 tests were positive at that time.

On 25 November, the highest number of newly recovered was reported: 9,697 Romanians defeated the disease.
