Coronavirus Romania, budget 8 October. As of Sunday, 303,751 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed in Romania. 204,679 patients were declared cured.

The latest record was set on Friday 6 November, when 10,260 new diseases were recorded from Covid-19.

Saturday’s toll was also high: 9,937 new cases out of over 36,000 tests performed, plus a record number of infected patients in intensive care – 1,080.

The balance of 13:00 – 6,752 new cases and 86 deaths

Until today, November 8, on Romanian territory, they have been confirmed 303,751 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19). 204,679 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 6,752 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these are cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, following the retest of already positive patients, 927 people were positively reconfirmed.

Until today, 7,879 of people diagnosed with SARS – CoV – 2 infection died.

Between 07.11.2020 (10:00) and 8.11.2020 (10:00) they were reported 86 dead (40 men and 46 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Harghita, Iași, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 25 deaths in the age category 60- 69 years, 32 deaths in the 70-79 age group and 17 deaths in the over 80 category.

83 of the recorded deaths involved patients with comorbidities and 3 deceased patients did not have comorbidities.

In health care units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12,295. Of these, 1,056 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 3,476,645 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 21,552 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,421 based on case definition and medical protocol and 8,131 upon request.

Home isolation and quarantine

In Romania, 40,629 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 23,788 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 71,017 people are in quarantine at home and 20 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,956 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112.

Criminal cases and sanctions

Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie have applied, in the last 24 hours, 8,778 penalties for minor crimes, equal to 1,422,800 lei.

Furthermore, through the competent police structures, yesterday 6 crimes were ascertained to combat the fight against diseases, an act envisaged and punished by art. 352 criminal code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has made operational, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be reported.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified problems.

The situation of Romanians in the diaspora

As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,862 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in the United Kingdom, 36 in Hungary, 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Between 06.11.2020 (10:00) and 07.11.2020 (10:00) they were reported 130 dead (86 men and 44 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

122 of the deaths recorded concern some patients with comorbidities, 3 deceased patients did not have comorbidities and for 5 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12,113. Of these, 1,048 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 3,455,093 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 36,202 were performed in the last 24 hours, 20,612 based on case definition and medical protocol and 15,590 upon request.
